When Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi wrote these words in Persian in the 13th Century, he probably couldn't imagine them still being read over eight century's later.
Understanding what he meant is as simple or as complex as you want it to be. Rumi may have meant that we are a child of the Universe and have everything we need,
or that we are composed of the same essence as the Universe and can create anything we want.
The latter is more in keeping with the Law of Attraction, although while modern man wants wealth and love, in Rumi's day desire was for a connection to God, mystic understanding, and in Rumi's case, immortality through fame.
Whatever you understand from this, it is clear that the motto of this work is simply I Can. Believing this in the root of your being, is a step to understanding.
