"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." ― Mother Theresa We wake, we work, we rest, and we sleep and it feels like an endless cycle. We are each given our journey in life to make of it what we will. So many of us turn it into a treadmill rather than an adventure and bemoan our tired lives. True, not every day has the chance of foreign shores and exciting times. Most days are filled with mundane tasks that steal away our time and crush our spirit. It is then that we ask 'Is this it?' The Divine Will is there to guide us and yet we fritter away our lives lamenting yesterday and planning tomorrow, so little of this precious time is spent living today. We exclaim how we simply do not have time to start living but consider how much of your day is wasted with banal and repetitive tasks. Given how much time we spend doing these things, let us seek out a way to transform them from wasted grey to living color. • Give Your First Thanks To Your Divine - Clear your mind and begin with a simple prayer, mantra, or affirmation to your chosen Higher Power. You are awake and alive. Repeated every day and you will educate your mind to be clear and focused • Give Thanks To Air - Take deep breaths, draw in the new air and energy, and slowly let out the stagnant air and thoughts of the night. If you are slow at waking build your breathing up like an athlete working to do a heavy lift, and get up. • Give Thanks To Fire - Seek out the sun and feel its warmth flood you, if the weather permits go to a window or outside. If the sky is less kind, find a sunrise image to energize you and try and leave dark areas as soon as possible. • Give Thanks To Water - Drink a glass of good, clear water and let the sensation of cleansing and freshness fill you. Take as much as you like and feel your body energize to this vital fluid. • Give Thanks To Earth - Breakfast. Take food to feed your body for the tasks of the day. To switch on your metabolism and start the inner furnace, all machines need fuel. • Empower Your Thoughts - You have connected to the elements so now take a moment to consider your actions for the day. What you must so, what you want to do and what you will do. Be honest with yourself, if what you will do does not include what you must do then seek guidance from your Higher Power. • Select Your Tools - Mentally, you know what to do, now consider your barriers to success. Choose your affirmation and crystal for the day, if you like, write down the words of wisdom and pocket the crystal that will add certainty to completion. Now you are ready to go out into the day and do your thing. Remember that your every action makes a difference so make it a good one. When you need to make choices, decide as your best friend and critic, it may not lead to the preferred choice but it will lead to the best one. Choice is the gift of the Divine so use it, and only if you are lost seek guidance from your Higher Power. A child does not learn to walk by being carried. Your body and mind are simple machines, either a mix of muscle, sinew, and bone, or synapsis, responses, and input. Repeating the same actions over again leads to apathy, stagnation, and a waste of time and effort. Do something different and break the chain, however small, any change to the mundane routine makes us change. You may breathe faster, your mind becomes alive, and your senses wake up so that you are feeling rather than just doing. As you go out into the world keep check on the trinity of mind, body, and soul. The essential balance of thought, action, and purpose is, when well maintained one of the keys to a better day and a better life. When our purpose becomes love we are on the right path.
