"If with a pure mind a person speaks or acts, happiness follows them like a never-departing shadow." - Buddha.
Wisdom of Gaia talks about energy and power, the positive and negative, and being connected. We could be talking about electronics or our inner spirit. While we welcome the miracle of computers or cell-phones, we struggle to accept the same magic in ourselves.
Everything transmits the positive and negative energies of life, and we feel it in music, art, and nature. We are also receivers of energies when we are praised or chastised. Our positivity increases or drains with a few simple words.
People have always understood this but rarely do we consider the good or harm we do with this intricate flow of power. Like ethereal muscles, the parts of us that deal with energy grow or shrink on how we exercise them.
Our good deeds fill us with a sense of well-being as we transmit our love to another. Imperceptibly our ability to give love increases, but this is a two-way transaction that we often forget. Your act of love may cause love to reflect back in the form of thanks, yet we often disregard it in the name of humility with 'it was nothing.' or 'no problem.'
Whether subconsciously or intentionally, by denying the gratitude, we leave the transaction open. Leaving a person with a spiritual debt, we sour the experience, denying each other the full joy of the moment. The same is true when actions that warrant gratitude aren't appreciated. There is an empty feeling when our kindness isn't appreciated.
So far, we have explained these transactions in terms of words, but they also occur in other ways. The comfort of a hug is repaid with a smile, and most things can earn a simple kiss. Shaking hands is known for sealing a deal, but the touch often transmits gratitude too.
The most powerful emotion we have is love. Its declaration to another can change lives and worlds. I love you transmits the energy of the purest kind, and a simple thank you is not enough. The power we receive when hearing these words is immense. Unrequited love can be rewarded with a harsh rebuttal or a gentle decline. Accept another's love, and you open yourself to a real commitment. But how can we thank someone?
Star crossed lovers will often repeat the phrase back and forth, but this does not do it justice. As the words reach your ears, let the energy fill your spirit, the phrase 'fit to burst.' is not said lightly. Take the energy, let it fill your being, let it merge with your own love until it must escape back. This spiritual union is like a wave between two shores, never-ending while the world turns.
