Getting To Know My Stones

I love the picture here with all our crystals, you may look and consider it a collection or a display but to me it is more like a cross between a petting zoo and a magic box. Each stone and statue has its own personality and purpose, some days some will ask to be simply handled while others call to be picked up and carried through the day. I don't feel that we own these stones, more like guardians or custodians to look after them until they move on to the next part of their journey.

Charity set up our Etsy shop shortly after we set up this site as a way to pass on the stones we have and bring new ones into our lives. As we part with the stones we cannot help but send a little message of love along with our crystal as it goes to its new home.

I, personally believe that all things contain a spark of the divine, that cosmic energy that pulses through my veins, sings in the wind and radiates in these crystals. Like people, they all have their personalities and strengths and when I first got them they all cried out at once in a cacophany of noise. Thankfully with time and nurturing they are less unruly or needy, and while I always feel their presence as a gentle hum only rarely do they scream for attention and usually it is more to tell me that I need them, than that they need me.

Each day I will check them over and usually a few will draw my attention and I will pocket them as my crystal power-packs for the day. Occasionally I may choose what I think I may need but I prefer to let them or my Higher Power decide even if it goes against my own judgement.

Today I picked a Blue Kyanite that is particularly narrow, it reminds me of a writers pen and although I didn't intend to write this note today, here we are. With it I also chose a larger than usual Clear Quartz, I love these quiet power houses, they are like sentries that keep the other stones in check. The last stone I chose was a particularly golden Citrine, I like the clear thoughts they give and this one seems to be fortuitous as it looks as though I may be returning to the UK soon, only seven weeks overdue.

In living a life that means I listen and work with my Higher Power, I find these crystal marvels give another level of support and security that gives me strength and optimism regardless of the uncertainties my life faces. I know as these stones leave to enjoy new homes, I will get more to meet and to know. I hope you have a few crystals in your life and take the time to truly learn to know and love them.
