Wisdom Figure Dialogue Practice
In this practice, you'll connect with a wisdom figure that resonates with you.
- Take a few moments to center yourself through deep breathing.
- Choose a wisdom figure that feels appropriate for your current situation (archetype, ancestor, spiritual guide, etc.).
- Begin your journal entry by describing this figure and why you've chosen them.
- Start the dialogue with an introduction and one of these questions:
- "What guidance do you have for me about the challenges I'm currently facing?"
- "What am I not seeing clearly in my current situation?"
- "What wisdom can you share that would help me grow beyond current limitations?"
- Allow the response to emerge in its own voice and perspective.
- Continue the dialogue, asking follow-up questions as they arise.
- Close with gratitude for the insights received.
Remember to write without censoring. The wisdom may come in unexpected ways—through metaphors, stories, or direct guidance.
