Everyday Self-Love Practices
Grand declarations are easy; staying kind to yourself on a Tuesday afternoon when you’re tired and overwhelmed is harder. This lesson helps you design small, realistic practices that fit your real life.
1. Consistency beats intensity
Self-love is strengthened more by small repeated actions than by rare dramatic gestures.
Examples:
- taking three kind breaths after making a mistake
- drinking water when you notice tension
- writing one honest sentence in your journal each night
- stopping self-criticism with a simple: “No, we don’t talk to ourselves like that anymore.”
Tiny does not mean insignificant. Tiny means sustainable.
2. Designing practices that match your energy
Ask yourself:
- On a low-energy day, what’s the smallest act of self-love I can reliably do?
- On an average day, what feels realistic?
- On a good-energy day, what deeper practices feel nourishing, not punishing?
You’re building a flexible system—not another rigid perfectionist regime.
3. Creating your personal self-love menu
Think of a menu with three sections:
- Mind – e.g. compassionate self-talk, reframing, gratitude for Survival-You
- Body – e.g. stretching, walking, resting, warmth
- Heart/Spirit – e.g. music, prayer, nature, oracle cards, connecting with a trusted person
Mix and match 1–2 items per day according to capacity.
